These are not cherry blossoms

Today I learned that a surprising number of tourists mistake magnolias for D.C.'s iconic cherry blossoms. They were so excited that  I didn't have the heart to correct them.

That is hilarious...I saw some magnolias the other day and went "wait, what, cherry bloss--oh, wait, those are magnolias". =D They are WAY too big but I guess I could see the initial misconception. But still. Funny.
